Mr. Peter Oyloe serves as Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Gar Gar Ma Swashtya (GGMS), or Healthy Homes, Project in Nepal. In this capacity he is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the project achieves its goals and produces high-quality deliverables on time. Prior to joining FHI 360 (formerly AED), Mr. Oyloe was Manager for International Health Policy at Merck Vaccines, a division of Merck and Co., one of the largest, well-respected pharmaceutical companies in the world. Working in close coordination with the World Health Organization, other United Nations agencies, and the GAVI Alliance, Mr. Oyloe led efforts to introduce new Merck vaccines, such as the rotavirus and HPV vaccines, to markets in the developing world. Mr. Oyloe has significant experience in organizing public-private partnerships, influencing public health policy, and planning and executing marketing and communication programs. Prior to joining Merck, Mr. Oyloe worked for CARE International, The Carter Center, and Where There Be Dragons—an organization specializing in cross-cultural education programs. Mr. Oyloe holds a Master of Public Health Degree from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, in Atlanta, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. He is fluent in English and conversant in Tibetan, Nepali, and Spanish.
