In her role as a Program Officer, Laiah Idelson provides support to many of the center's projects, including MAPS. Before joining FHI360, Ms. Idelson was the Nigeria Country Program Coordinator at the Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty (CIFA) in Washington, D.C., where she organized CIFA's projects in Nigeria with their sister organization, the Nigerian Inter-Faith Action Association. At CIFA, Ms. Idelson also organized two high-level consultations, one in partnership with the World Health Organization, and the other with the White House and the United Nations. Ms. Idelson has been involved with international development since the age of 12, when she became active with Free the Children. She co-founded and directed one of their most active chapters in North America and served on their speakers' bureau. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Communications Studies and a minor in Sociology from American University and is conversational in French.
