David Greeley

David Greeley

Vice President and Director, Center for Private Sector Health Initiatives (CPSHI)

Mr. David Greeley has served as CPSHI Center Director for more than two years. Mr. Greeley oversees a staff of over 50 professionals, operating in ten countries, who are responsible for a diverse project portfolio worth more than $115 million. Mr. Greeley also directs strategic communications, stakeholder relations, and business development for the Center. Prior to joining FHI 360 (formerly AED), Mr. Greeley spent ten years at Merck & Co. Inc, first, managing the Latin America and Caribbean public affairs and policy function, and then directing Merck's global HIV/AIDS programs, public-private partnerships, stakeholder relations, policy, and communications. Before Merck, Mr. Greeley worked for more than 11 years with the NGOs Population Services International (PSI) and CARE. At PSI, he created the new business development department, served as PSI's Country Representative in India, and returned to the United States to oversee all of PSI's Asia programs and worldwide business development efforts. Mr. Greeley spent four years with CARE living and working in Indonesia, Belize, and Niger. In the early 1980s, Mr. Greeley served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Mr. Greeley holds a Master's Degree in Economic and Political Development and African Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor's Degree from Brandeis University where he majored in International Politics. He speaks fluent French and is conversant in Spanish and Indonesian. He sits on the Board of Afropop, whose purpose it is to bring African music to audiences across the United States.
